In the Fall of 1989, Mario made a big decision to semi-retire from the construction trade to seek new interests, knowing that eventually, he would return to the construction industry. In August of 2001, Mario went to work for Buzz Oates Construction as an underground Foreman, managing an underground crew that installed all site utilities for commercial warehouses. During this time he completed five commercial projects located in Lincoln, West Sacramento and Vacaville. These projects allowed Mario to update his skills with the new construction specifications including the new environmental and water pollution standards that were not in existence at the time of his retirement. In the Summer of 2003, Mario had the opportunity to work for Syblon & Reid Construction as a Supervisor. Syblon & Reid specializes in hard and difficult sewer projects. Some of the projects include the Folsom City Sewer Re-Project, City of Rocklin Replacement (replacing old and damaged sewer mains) and West Sacramento Sewer Rehab Project. Mario's main purpose for working for those companies was to make a smooth transition in re-starting MJD Engineering.
Today, MJD Engineering is a family owned company, which means that there will always be a decision-maker on the job site and in the office. The MJD Engineering work force is made up of past employees and employees that were recruited from projects that Mario has completed. MJD Engineering is a new and energized company, which looks forward to the challenges of the future. We are financially ready and able to meet any underground project that you may have.
